In September 2015, Pope Francis visited the United States and made an unforgettable stop in New York City. His visit touched thousands of people throughout the city and included mass at St. Patrick’s Cathedral, a multi-religion service at the 9/11 Memorial, and a Central Park motorcade.
On March 17, 2016 Monsignor Robert Ritchie, the rector of St. Patrick’s Cathedral, drove the car to the cathedral where Cardinal Timothy Dolan reviewed it prior to its participation in the 2016 St. Patrick’s Day Parade in New York City. The Fiat was then driven for the rest of the parade route.
The winner of the auction will also be given the opportunity to meet with Cardinal Timothy Dolan at St. Patrick’s Cathedral or the Archdiocese of New York to bless the vehicle.
This vehicle was provided by Chrysler for the Papal Visit to the United States on Sept 22-27 2015. The Secret Service confirmed the Holy Father used this Fiat, as reported by the Archdiocese of New York who will provide a letter of confirmation to the winner.
