keke-palmerStar of the big screen, small screen and the Great White Way Keke Palmer heads to Aaron Davis Hall Thursday for a book signing for her recently released title, “I Don’t Belong to You: Quiet the Noise and Find Your Voice.” Her alternately funny and serious debut book reveals the many bumps and roadblocks she has faced and knows many from her generation are facing and offers advice on how young people can navigate twenty-first century living. The event, which runs from 6 to 8 p.m. is presented by the City College Center for the Arts (CCCA) and Melba’s.

Palmer, who is also a talented singer, talk show host, social media presence and activist, will do a reading from the book, which is designed to inspire readers to become the heroes and heroines of their own stories. The motivational guide will help young people and adults alike to break free of pain and fear to achieve the life of their dreams.

“Keke Palmer is a multi-talented, nationally recognized performer who has accomplished so much at a young age,” said CCCA Managing Director Gregory Shanck. “We are looking forward to sharing her book with students, Harlem residents and the wider New York City community.”

The event, part of CCCA’s role as a Harlem cultural hub and a bastion for great art and artists, is free but RSVP is required at www.citycollegecenterforthearts.org. Books can be purchased at the venue. Aaron Davis Hall is located on the campus of The City College of New York, at West 135th Street and Convent Avenue (129 Convent Avenue).

Melba’s Restaurant is located at 300 W. 114th Street, New York, NY 10026.
