Award Winning Hip Hop artist, Derek Minor, is scheduled to release several EPs throughout 2017 and early 2018 for his Up and Away Series, with the first project, Your Soul Must Fly, releasing Sept. 1. The record’s first single, “Take Off,” features guest artists Ty Brasel, Canon and KB, and will be going for adds at radio Aug. 18. The song’s music video is scheduled to release Aug. 29, which was filmed in Nashville, Tenn. and was produced by Jacob Henley for Glowing Moses Creative.
The innovative set up for Minor’s new music is a result of the partnership between Minor’s record label, Reflection Music Group (RMG), and EMPIRE Distribution out of San Francisco. Minor’s concept that everyone is created to be a reflection of greatness, has been developed into these multiple installments of music in order to be the soundtracks of this pursuit. Each record will be distributed across such digital platforms as iTunes, Google Play, Amazon.com, Spotify, Soundcloud and Rdio. Fans will be able to keep updated about the Up and Away Series pre-orders, music, videos, song-by-song explanations and more at www.derekminor.com.
Minor will be performing his new music on the Newsboys fall tour, “Big Church Night Out Tour,” that is being produced by Premier Productions. The tour will visit 42 cities across the U.S and will have a four-month run from Sept. – Dec. Besides Minor, the tour will also feature Sidewalk Prophets, 7eventh Time Down, Blanca, Adam Agree (Audi Adrenaline), among others. Tickets may be purchased HERE.
Minor’s new projects will continue the successful run that the talented singer/songwriter has enjoyed so far this year. He received strong response with his four-week No. 1 Billboard song, “Change The World” (feat. Hollyn), which was from his previous album Reflection. The video received over half a million views online and the album streamed over 2.6 million on Spotify. At the same time, Minor delivered high-energy performances on the 9th Annual Rock & Worship Roadshow this spring, where he did the first “take over” for CCM Magazine’s Instagram account backstage at the concerts.
Minor will be wrapping up his summer tours Aug. 30, with his final dates at the Uproar Conference, Soul Fest and appearances in New Mexico and Tenn.
