Mid Day Meditation: Let It Go

“The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy. I came that they may have life and have it abundantly.” John 10:10

You have been working hard today and you have met the half way point. Free yourself from being controlled by what other people think. Start to prioritize how you feel about yourself. As Mahatma Gandhi said, “Happiness is when what you think, what you say, and what you do are in harmony.” You can’t live by your values if you’re living for the approval of others.

Right now, you are possibly on your lunch hour.  I want to tell you ‘Let It Go.’ Yes, the  Frozen song is running through my mind too! Holding on to pain doesn’t fix anything. Being angry with your co-worker does not help.

1) Let Go. Did you see the movie, Up? Imagine or call to mind the balloons in this movie. Visualize placing your negative thoughts or feelings on a balloon and watching them fly away into the sky.

2) Ta-Da!  Sometimes it is helpful to graciously and humorously accept errors—think of a clown bowing down. Imagine (or actually) make a big sweeping gesture as if to say, “Thank you, no applause necessary.

So Let it go!
