We all have been busy this week, but something interesting is happening in Hollywood.
Hollywood is burying a movie. Yes, I did say burying. the movie was in the Top 10 movies last week on Friday and Saturday. It had a limited opening in fewer than 680 theaters, compared to 4,250 for the weekend’s number one film.
The film’s name is “Gosnell: The Trial of America’s Biggest Serial Killer”. The film features Dean Cain, Sarah Jane Morris, and Nick Searcy ,who directed the film.
The filmmakers behind “Gosnell: The Trial of America’s Biggest Serial Killer” have questioned why hundreds of theaters have dropped the pro-life movie despite a strong opening performance. They also shared of various reports of moviegoers being misled or flat-out prevented from buying tickets to the movie, noting that there are too many incidents to simply be dismissed as a coincidence.
The film is definitely an interesting story.
“Gosnell,” retells the investigation, arrest, and trial of real-life abortion doctor Kermit oThe film entered the top 10 at the box office last week, earning $1,235,000 on just 668 screens.
The numbers for this film are mathematically stunning. Last Friday, the film’s domestic gross hit $2,000,000, but that was not enough to stop nearly 200 theaters from dropping the film. Almost 30,000 people donated over $2.3m in 45 days. When it ended it was the most successful crowdfunding campaign on the Indiegogo website.
