Curators William Pretzer & Mary Elliott give tours of the history galleries and take your calls on American History TV.

American History TV will take you inside the museum on Washington, DC’s National Mall for a special look at exhibit galleries chronicling the African American story from slavery through the inauguration of the first African American president. And we’ll see a selection of artifacts, including a South Carolina slave cabin, Harriet Tubman’s hymnal, a segregated railroad passenger car, a trumpet owned by Louis Armstrong, and the leather couch from the Oprah Winfrey Show set.

Here is a taste.

The entire program re-airs at 10pm ET February 19 and again on Presidents Day, Monday, February 20 at 8am and 8pm ET, all on C-SPAN3.
