thanks-1804597_960_720Grace is a free gift. It cannot be earned, but neither can one automatically receive it.

God, through His grace, gives us the blessing of having our sins forgiven and eventually receiving eternal life. But we now have to change direction in our walk of life, leaving behind our old and sinful ways of life.

Grace is what allows us to be to be kind, loving thoughtful creatures.

God’s grace can include His merciful intervention and direction in people’s lives. That car accident that should have killed you, didn’t. To receive grace, we are expected to humble ourselves, so that God can exalt us at a later time.

This is all tied into gratitude. Live and embrace gratitude.

The benefits of practicing gratitude are nearly endless. People who regularly practice gratitude by taking time to notice and reflect upon the things they’re thankful for experience more positive emotions, feel more alive, sleep better, express more compassion and kindness, and even have stronger immune systems.

The best way to reap the benefits of gratitude is to notice new things you’re grateful for every day. When you do this you will see grace in your life.

People who experience the most gratitude (and therefore the positive effects) tend to:

  • Feel a sense of abundance in their lives
  • Appreciate the contributions of others to their well-being
  • Recognize and enjoy life’s small pleasures
  • Acknowledge the importance of experiencing and expressing gratitude

Happy Thanksgiving where you are.
