The ninth day of the 12 days of Christmas makes us reflect on the internal works of the Holy Spirit.
On the ninth day of Christmas my true love gave to me 9 ladies dancing.
At first glance the nine ladies dancing would seem utterly dangerous in this #metoo era. No worries it’s not anything like that. The Nine ladies dancing are the 9 fruits of that the Holy Spirit provides. The Holy Spirit is the third the person that makes spiritual headway within each of us with regard to qualities or traits that make us followers of the Word.
There are nine biblically-based fruits of the Holy Spirit as given by St. Paul in his letter to the Galatians: “love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, generosity, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control” (Galatians 5:22-23).
They make the person who possesses them disposed to make proper choices and to do the right thing.
