As we get to wind down our 12 Days of Christmas are waning away with a reminder to what we should do.
On the eleventh day of Christmas my true love gave to me 11 Pipers Piping
The eleven Pipers Piping are the eleven faithful apostles. Jesus called. Twelve men answered. Eleven men chose to tough their way through with faith.
They were as follows :
1) Simon Peter
2) Andrew
3) James
4) John
5) Philip,
6) Bartholomew
7) Matthew
8) Thomas
9) James bar Alphaeus
10) Simon the Zealot
11) Judas bar James
These eleven apostles are all great encouragements to us because they exemplify how common people with typical failings can be used by God in uncommon, remarkable ways. Being a disciple of Jesus Christ is a lot different than just going to church once or twice a week.It is not enough simply to say: “I’m on my way to heaven.” The issue is, are you becoming like the One who is taking you to heaven? That’s discipleship, and that’s what Christ wants from you.
The Apostles are exemplary models of what God can do when you let him mold you.
