NBC’s Timeless Is Valuable Entertainment

NBC’s ‘Timeless’ follows the adventures of history professor Lucy Preston (Abigail Spencer), scientist Rufus Carlin (Malcolm Barrett) and soldier Wyatt Logan (Matt Lanter) as they attempt to stop Garcia Flynn (Goran Višnjić) from changing the course of American history through time travel. The series was created by Shawn Ryan and Eric Kripke and also stars Paterson Joseph and Sakina Jaffrey.

I told you guys about this show last year and still stand firmly behind it.  The characters are so well fleshed out  that I cannot say enough about them. The history lessons alone  are stellar. They place the reset button and stories we remember reading as children. In our trying times now, where we should hold b to our history, this show could not come at a better time.

It should encourage you to know the facts behind the  stories. Last year, they did an episode on the Lone Ranger. It  should be marked as one of the best hours of television.

It has a clear take on what it means to live morally in the big picture. I love this facet of the show. They know the difference between good and evil. The episode that dealt with Al Capone stunned the audience with a tidbit that is rarely discussed. Al Capone had a federal agent brother who fought prohibition.

They show the many different faces of history.

This season, Lucy and her crew run into movie star/inventor Hedy Lamarr in 1941 Hollywood; suffragette leader Alice Paul; Grace Humiston, a private investigator who earned the nickname “Mrs. Sherlock Holmes”; and Benjamin Franklin’s mom, Abiah Folger, during the 1692 Salem witch trials. They will also run in to NASCAR’s first black driver.

Please tune in to NBC on Sunday nights at 10pm or watch it on ‘On Demand’. It is worth it.
