‘We’re The Campbells’ Episode 8‘s Lesson: We Have to Meet Change Head On

we're the campbells‘We’re The Campbells’ headed off  into the area of what happens when branches of a tree start to sprout.

Erica’s plans for a hair music festival to promote her wig line are put in jeopardy when she and Warryn decide to shoot a music video for their duet; Warryn discovers Krista has been wearing makeup to school without permission.

We all know that the only thing that is guaranteed is change. Change demands that we realistically look at our lives and prioritize. In today’s hyper connected world, in which we often focus more on efficiency than on creativity, she said we have to move forward without knowing all the answers.

Our search for greater efficiency and perfection has developed an almost mechanical work culture that fears creativity and failure. Not only is “failure” a word we refuse to talk about in our organizations — 75 percent of people say they do not feel creative at work — it is putting pressure on children as well, a time when developing imagination is critical.

The number one way to shift your mindset and achieve change is to give yourself, and your teams, permission to change, including trying and testing new things. This includes giving yourself permission to fail.. It is accepted, however, that extenuating circumstances can arise and make you shift mid stream to a new change.

This episode showed Erica’s acceptance that she had to shift and change to actually build time in for her product. Warryn had to accept that his little girl was growing up. He does the right thing. He provides a safe environment for her.

Change make us grow. Change makes us evolve. Don’t be afraid.

So yes, we can stay in our comfort zone. We can stay right where we are and be in the presence of God. Is there anything wrong with that? Not necessarily, no. But that’s not what God wants for our lives.

God doesn’t want us to be comfortable.
If we stay in our comfort zone, we don’t need God.
If we stay in situations that we can handle on our own, we don’t need God.

God wants us in situations sometimes where we have no choice but to rely on Him because He is the only one who can get us through it. Change pulls us to him and makes us evolve.

Evolution is a great thing.
